SUMMARY OF TODAY’S PODCAST
Beyond Ordinary Marriage – a conversation with Justin & Trisha Davis

God still does miracles. In this episode we get to hear the story of God’s healing and redemption in the marriage of Justin and Trisha Davis. After 10 years of marriage struggle, 3 sons, and infidelity, they hit rock bottom – which is where the LORD began to do His amazing work! The lessons and wisdom God has brought to the Davis’ lives is wonderful to hear – a great testimony to His glory. They are the authors of the new book “Beyond Ordinary” which tells their story in a disarmingly honest way. You won’t be sorry you read it.

It’s so funny how things all relate to each other. I loved their point about seeking to not just avoid conflict but to actually have intimacy. I was just teaching on “Blessed are the peacemakers,” and we talked about this in class. My wife and I had one fight that lasted 30 seconds while we were dating. I don’t think we had one fight while we were married that first year. But the second year it started to all bubble up within us and we had to learn how to get conflict out and dealt with.

Loren Pinilis I found that statement very meaningful as well. Too often we are simply wanting to avoid the discomfort of conflict, even those who see themselves as “peacemakers.” But peace without intimacy is still lacking, which is another reason why I find it interesting that Jesus is called the “Prince of Peace.” It implies relationship, don’t you think? Have a blessed Easter season Loren. He is risen!
