SUMMARY OF TODAY’S PODCAST
Christian books, Christian classics, and the Christian family
In my Christian walk I’ve had many people who have invested time and energy into my growth and discipleship. But there were key points in my journey when there simply weren’t individuals available who could come alongside me like I needed. I thank God that at those times He sovereignly led me to the realm of Christian books, in particular many of the Christian classics that have been passed down to us through history. People like Andrew Murray, C. H. Spurgeon, Oswald Chambers and others have been instrumental in shaping my thinking, my theology, and my faith – and therefore my life. In this episode of the podcast I’m very excited to welcome Luke Wilson of www.deeprootslibrary.com to talk with me about the importance of this kind of literature in the life of the Christian family. Luke has a great enthusiasm for books in general and Christian classics in particular. He’s also working on a very unique and ambitious project to make Christian classics more readily available to everyone in the world, and I believe it’s a project well worth your consideration. Enjoy listening as Luke and I have a great time talking about some of our favorite authors and the impact they’ve had on our lives.
